Assalaamu alaykum. I pray the Eid prayer at my village's masjid. Everyone there stands up and recites "Ya Nabi Salam ‘alaika" after the prayer and before the sermon. Is that a religious innovation? What can I do to avoid the embarrassment of being the only one sitting down?

Assalaamu alaykum. How should I pray the Sunnah prayer if I pray four Rak‘ahs (units of prayer) with one Salaam? Should I recite another surah after the Faatihah in every Rak‘ah? Should I sit in Tashahhud after two Rak‘ahs?

Assalaamu alaykum. What is the ruling on saying, “Salaah Al-Witr, may Allah reward you,” to caution the worshippers? I said this in the heat of the moment because someone told me to, and I asked myself whether or not it is a Bid‘ah (religious innovation) after I said it (but my heart leaned more towards that it is Bid‘ah because I heard one.. I have a question about the quotation from Ibn Qudaamah, where it mentions, “If a person laughs and two letters are articulated, his prayer is valid, as well as if one laughs boisterously even without two letters.” Does.. More
Assalalam alaykum, noble Brother. As a muslim leader, kindly help to bring the issue of the blatant use of sprays and perfumes in the Muslims among men during the prayers to the plight of asthmatic Muslims. We know that perfumes are allowed in the Sunahfor men, but some men ignorantly do use sprays and perfumes and jump into the prayers oblivious of.. More
Assalaamu alaykum. I have a question which I have been curious about. I know that Shaykh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, was of the opinion that a person does not have to make up for their past missed prayers if it was done deliberately. I heard that he, may Allah have mercy on him, chose this opinion on the basis that a person.. More
Assalaamu alaykum, dear Sheikh. My question is about the one who guards the masjid; what is his reward, and what are the conditions for that? What I mean is, does he get the reward of one who is doing jihad by protecting the masjid, especially in a disbelieving country where attacks have been happening? For example, one hadith states that the reward.. More
Assalaamu alaykum, Scholars. I would like to know what the status/reward/value of the voluntary prayers is. I am not refering to the Sunnah-prescibed ones, such as the Rawaatib, the night prayer, or the Duha prayer, but rather the prayers that one may make for instance between the Thuhr and the ‘Asr or between the Maghrib and the ‘Ishaa’. For.. More
Assalamu'aalykum. I performed ablution and prayed the Thuhr and ‘Asr together because I wanted to travel to another city. Afterwards, I found some dirt that could block water from reaching the skin on my foot. I do not know when the dirt got there because I did not look at it before the ablution nor during it. I have not made up for these prayers.. More
Assalaamu alaykum. Suppose a man starts to pray the ‘Asr by himself. Then, after some time, a group of people come and start praying the ‘Asr together beside him, so the man is actually in the same row as the congregation. If that person changes his intention and follows the imam afterwards, is his prayer valid?

Assalaamu alaykum. The majority of the scholars say that praying in congregation is a highly-regarded action of the Sunnah, but that it is not obligatory. This means that though one misses the reward for attending the congregation, one is not sinful. Please mention the evidence based on which the majority based their opinion.

Assalaamu alaykum. I just wanted clarification on the following hadith. I cannot remember its exact wording, so I will paraphrase it, Allah willing. It is regarding the Day of Judgment, when a person will be being questioned about his prayer. I live in a small city with no mosques, there is only a small Islamic community with a small masjid, which I believe is inside their own house. However, I never go there because I do not feel comfortable with these people. They could be deviants or innovators, or even disbelievers (Allah knows best). Am I sinful If I do not pray the Friday prayer there?.. More
