Unfortunately, I live in the west. Sometimes, I go to the mosque at the time of prayer. However, I find no one there to call the Athaan so I do it myself. But I found that some people turn to the right and left when saying “Hayya ‘ala As-Salaah” and “Hayya ‘ala Al-Falaah”. I do not do so but is it obligatory upon me to do so?.. More
In Bosnia, we are exposed to snow and other difficult weather conditions and this compels us to combine prayers. The question is, when we combine Maghrib and ‘Ishaa’ prayers at the time of Maghrib, should we offer the Sunnah (i.e. two supererogatory prayers) of Maghrib and ‘Ishaa’ along with the Witr after we finish combining prayers or.. In Fajr prayer, the Imaam raises his hands and says supplications; so what should I do? Should I raise my hands and say amen or something else? I came late to Al-‘Asr prayer. After the prayer was over and some of those who prayed left the Masjid; some people said that we performed only three Rak‘ahs. Allaah The Exalted Blessed me with a piece of land and I intend to build a house on it. May Allaah The Almighty preserve you. My question is about combining the prayer of Al-Maghrib and Al-‘Ishaa’ or Ath-Thuhr and Al-‘Asr. Is it a condition that they are not separated or one may separate them with a short period of time? Is there proof that the two prayers should be performed directly after each other?.. More
When we are in a mosque that has two floors, is it permissible to place the pulpit and Mihraab (i.e. prayer niche) on the second floor, which is the greater one, knowing that people pray on the ground floor on Fridays because the second one does not suffice them? In other words, is it permissible for the Imaam to be in a higher place than the worshippers?.. More
I got married some years ago. I have children and I work. When I pray, I cannot remember anything of the prayer. I recite the Quran daily but I cannot memorize anything, not even a word.
