One is not sinful for not loving all his fellow Muslims equally

Supplicating for patience when one is not afflicted
Assalamualaykum, dear scholar, could you please inform me whether is it true that we should not ask for patience when we are living at ease? There is a hadeeth which says that Muhammad saw prevented a sahabi from asking Allah swt for patience since it also means asking for trials. However i've heard that it is a weak hadeeth. Does Allaah’s forgiveness include the consequences of sins?
May allah reard you greatly. When Allah forgives sins, does this also include being forgiven for the consequences of the sin? For example in the story of the man who killed 100 people, he was forgiven for killing but what about the harm he did to the familes of these men. Left Canada but still receives government allowance for his children
